America draws 2-2 with Cruz Azul
MEXICO CITY: Uruguayan Rodrigo Lopez scored twice as America drew 2-2 against Cruz Azul on Sunday for its 11th game without loss against the Blue Machine.
Lopez scored in the 14th and 45th minutes for the Eagles, who have not lost against Cruz Azul since May 4, 2003.
Gerardo Torrado scored in the 14th and Miguel Sabah in the 40th for Cruz Azul, which is has not won a game in the tournament in four matches.
Also Sunday, Argentine strikers Esteban Solari and Ignacio Scocco scored to give Pumas a 3-2 win over Atlas 3-2.
Solari scored his first goal in the 46th and added another in the 59th on a cross from Scocco, who scored Puma's last goal in the 66th.
Argentine Bruno Marioni, who won a championship with Pumas in 2004, scored twice, in the 65th and 75th minute for Atlas, that lost their eight match of the season.
On Saturday, in Guadalajara, Chivas beat Veracruz 3-1 in Efrain Flores' first game of as coach.
Alberto Medina, Ramon Morales and Sergio Santana scored for Guadalajara, which last Friday fired coach Jose Manuel de la Torre.
Colombian John Restrepo scored for Veracruz.
In other matches, Puebla beat Tigres 3-0, Jaguars drew a 2-2 tie against Santos, San Luis defeated Monterrey 3-2 on two goals by Alfredo Moreno, who now has 12 to lead the scoring department.
Also Saturday, Pachuca tied 1-1 with Necaxa and Atlante beat Toluca 2-0.
